Description
Description
A fast growing type of maple, this attractive tree is grown for its striking foliage. New leaves appear in spring with a definite pink hue to them and as they mature they acquire their normal green colouring, with an unusual white or pale pink variegation! Due to its naturally small size for a tree of this type, Acer negundo 'Flamingo' can be grown in a smaller sized garden, although pruning will be needed, alternatively it can be kept pruned back regularly and grown as a large shrub, either way it will certainly be a hit in your garden! Water regularly throughout the growing season until acer trees are well established. Protect plants from strong winds. Acers require little pruning other than to maintain their shape. Lightly trim stems if necessary from late autumn to midwinter.
