- Sow seed in 7.5cm (3in) pots of free-draining compost. Place at 15-20°C (59-68°F) until germination. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out after risk of frost. Before planting into containers, ensure plants are well rooted in their pots.
- The peppery flavour of nasturtium leaves and the colourful flowers will enrich salads and the unripened seeds can be used like capers – delicious combined with cream cheese or butter in canapés.
