- Common Name: Areca Palm
- D. lutescens is an evergreen palm forming a cluster of erect stems to 8m in height, bearing arching pinnate leaves to 2m in length, with linear leaflets, and panicles of small yellow flowers in summer
- This plant has air purifying benefits, it filters toxins and improves the quality of air in our homes. Houseplants have also been known to reduce stress and anxiety.
- Light: Chrysalidocarpus lutescens is tolerant of both light shade and bright, indirect light, however avoid excessive amounts of shade and direct light as these will harm the palm.
- Watering: Water well, keeping the soil moist at root level at all times. In summer, Areca Palms can be thirsty, particularly if located in a warm spot
- Humidity: Areca palms enjoy high humidity levels. Place on a shallow gravel tray filled with water and mist regularly.
- Additional advice: A fast growing plant typically reaches an ultimate height of around 3m, although unlikely indoors
